Batin takes nothing from you. Donations are how it stays that way.
Most software is free because you are the product. Batin refuses that. We collect nothing, sell nothing, and show no ads. That leaves one honest way to pay for the work: people who believe in it.
Where the money goes
Donations do one thing: they pay real, named engineers to build and audit software people can trust, and they keep the institution around that work honest and open. Not marketing, not ads, not us alone in a room. Security-critical software must be written and reviewed by funded professionals who put their names on it.
- Engineering: building and independently auditing privacy software under free licences.
- The institution: keeping governance, transparency and accounting sound.
- Never: advertising, tracking, or anything that would betray the promises.
What your donation never buys
No influence over what we build. No seat at the table. No exception to the promises. No access to data, because there is none.

Donations are not open yet
We will not ask for money we cannot yet receive properly. The association's bank account is being set up. Until it is, there is no donation button here, on purpose.
When the account is ready, this page will show exactly how to give, where the money sits, and how it is accounted for. If you want to be told when that happens, or to discuss a larger contribution or grant, write to us.

- Tell people who care about privacy that Batin exists.
- If you build software, watch for our first repositories and contributor guidelines.
- If you represent a grant maker or foundation, get in touch. Public and non-profit grants are our preferred source.
